It has been a long time since wrote a post. The last post was “the release of the wrist cuffs” and that does not feel too long ago but is actually 16 months ago. A lot has happened during these 16 months. The world has been kept in the chaos that has affected us all. we were just about to leave the Corona chaos when Europe was forced into another chaos, which feels 100 times worse!
The below post was written before the 24th of February, but not released. Right now the body feels sad, empty and very angry!! It is difficult to continue, but I am thinking I should release the post I have already written.
A lot has happened since my last post “release of the wrist cuffs”. The next post will be “release of the ankle cuffs” and that will be written soon I hope. The release of the ankle cuffs will happen during this year 2022, but the date is not yet set.
My workshop has done an excellent job regarding quality, but there has been a challenge to get material in time and to stay away from Covid-19. Together with the workshop, we have created more than 500 article numbers for our products. Creating those article numbers is a major big job. Apart from making the drawings and CNC programs for all these 500 article numbers, we also need to make tools and fixtures for all these article numbers. This has been a long trip, but very fun for us all!
Above is a picture of the main components we use to build our products. All parts are cut out from these blocks using the CNC machine. To make one of the elliptic collar parts, the CNC machine uses around 80 different steps. To make the parts we have also designed our own milling cutters to get the desired and exclusive design. We are proud to show a picture of our workshop here below.
We are now looking forward to the release of the ankle cuffs. Prototypes are already made for a few sizes already. We were very happy to see Alexandra Potter show them in some wonderful pictures. The release of the ankle cuffs will be done differently from the release of the wrist cuffs.
During the last year, we have had many customers waiting patiently for their orders of the wrist cuffs. This meant lots of stress and pressure on us and the workshop. When you as a customer place an order with us, our goal is to have parts in stock and deliver within two weeks. If we do not have parts in stock it is difficult to give an exact delivery time due to too many external parameters.
To limit this stress situation when releasing the ankle cuffs, we want to be better prepared compared to the release of wrist cuffs. Overall, we are very happy that we are now through with the wrist cuffs and have that as a fully released product. Customers are very happy with the design and that makes us very, very happy!
Material
The materials we use is aluminium, stainless steel and bronze. We have left the brass behind and replaced this with bronze completely. The smaller parts like sprints, plates, springs and screws are all made in stainless steel. Looking back on the last two years, the material prices have increased like crazy. Below is a chart for prices in aluminium.
Well, it is boring talking about prices, but it is definitely affecting us. Not only the prices are affecting us, but also the supply of the dimensions we need. Delivery times are all increasing for the material we need.
Titanium collar
In my last post, I promised a collar made in titanium. We are now almost ready to show you the titanium collar. As soon as I have it built, I will send the first collar to Alexandra Potter to test. I am very much looking forward to this. There are many more ideas on how to design a collar. One idea is to make an even more exclusive design, but first, we work to release the ankle cuffs!

Is the titanium project still ongoing or was is canceled?

Yes, the titanium project is still active, but I had to slow down a few projects last year due to capacity problems. We had really too much to do and the workshop was overloaded. Our aim is to have all sizes and models in stock for fast delivery. When we can secure fast delivery, we will start the projects again. The titanium project is one of these projects.
